He made be most famous for his high heeled red sole shoes but at the Christian Louboutin shop on Dover Street, Mayfair, all the shoes are flats - to be worn by men. Born in 1963, Louboutin opened his first shop in Paris in 1991 and his brand has since become synonymous with celebrity, glamour and sophistication. The trademark red soles came about by accident, originating from the red nail varnish applied to make a prototype match the drawing he had created. He opened his first UK store in Motcomb Street in 1998 and a second a decade later in Mount Street. The flagship 1,290-square-foot men's store at 35 Dover Street, opened in 2012, was designed by New York-based architects 212Box, and offers the widest selection of Louboutin's men's footwear and accessories available in the UK.
