If you thought Marylebone already had enough delicatessens, think again? Less than a year after Cocorino's flagship outlet launched on Thaler Street, a second offering on nearby Chiltern Street has opened its doors. While the original Cocorino focuses on gelati and focaccia sandwiches, the second is more of an alimentari stocked with high-end Italian products including olives, parmesan, ham and fresh pasta, all sourced from small, artisanal suppliers in Italy. Both Cocorino stores are joint owned by Linda Yau (sister of restaurateur Alan, the force behind Wagamama, Hakkasan, Busaba, Yauatcha, Cha Cha Moon and, most recently, Princi, the Milanese bakery in Soho) and Francesco Mazzei (founder and chef of L'Anima). With its white walls, wooden floors and dinky wall lights, Cocorino certainly has the right style to match its postcode, and while primarily a grocery store, there is one table with eight seats for customers to eat in. Burrata cheese, salami from Francesco's native Calabria, Sardinian breads, plum tomatoes with basil leaves, peppers stuffed with tuna, broad beans in olive oil, Puglian olives and fresh pasta all feature heavily, and there's also a selection of ice cream from the gelato bar around the corner.Location map of Cocorino Delicatessen
