The queen of the wrap dress, Diane von Furstenberg was responsible for giving women a distinctively feminine outline in the seventies. Newly revamped in the nineties, the simple dress with its thread-through fastening has been enjoying a revival - and not just with its original fan base. The label has also gone beyond its original staple and now includes everything from coats and jacketes to swimwear, accessories and even beauty products. The woman behind the dress has a high public profile and is frequently featured in the society pages. Marriages to Prince Egon of Fürstenberg and then to media mogul Barry Diller as well as charitable work have helped to keep her in the public eye.
