In business for almost three centuries, and jeweler to the British crown for 150 years, Garrard occupies a unique place in British history. Their flagship store on Albemarle Street is, nonetheless, considerably less intimidating than many of Bond Street's blingtastic designer stores, with knowledgeable, un-snooty staff, who are happy to let customers browse in peace, and are full of helpful suggestions when needed. The jewelery is admirably unflashy, with chic modern designs mixing comfortably with glorious heritage pieces.
