The American style buttercream covered cupcakes at the Hummingbird Bakery are freshly baked on site at each branch of this highly rated cake shop with bakers and decorators refreshing the sugary sweet treats on offer throughout the day. Following the success of their first two shops at Portobello Road (opened 2004) and South Kensington (May 2007), The Hummingbird Bakery opened a third shop on Wardour Street in Soho in December 2009 and a fourth branch in Spitalfields in May 2011. This funky Soho shop features brightly coloured cupcake pop-art, along with pink and chocolate signature colours. Many rave about the Red Velvet cupcake but there are over 50 creations to choose from - which can be seen on the large-screen TV in the shop. They also offer a wide range of Cakes by Consultation for weddings, christenings and other special occasions featuring expertly hand made decorations. If you're looking for a bespoke cake, consultation appointments are available at the Wardour Street and Old Brompton Road branches, call for an appointment.
