Stocking a wide range of yarns, needles, patterns and accessories, I Knit London started as a knitting community in Vauxhall in January 2006, meeting at the Beehive pub. The idea for a shop started as a stall in old Spitalfields Market, expanding to permanent premises in Vauxhall in September 2006, it then moved to this Lower Marsh location in 2008. There's a strong emphasis on yarn from British independent producers, alongside exquisite hand-dyes and silk from the US and Japan. Stock is constantly changing with new discoveries - check out their online shop at www.iknit.org.uk or pop into the shop for a more tactile shopping experience. The shop's owners Gerard Allt and Craig Carruthers also run regular classes, ideal for beginners, and knitting groups - see their website for details.
