Single origin chocolate and flavoured ganaches are beautifully displayed at this exquisite chocolate shop by Alain Ducasse, the French chef behind the three Michelin starred restaurant at The Dorchester which bears his name. Found under the arches of the Heatherwick Studio-designed Coal Drops Yard district in King's Cross, the store, designed by Paris-based agency Cigue, retains the industrial feel of its surroundings with exposed brick walls. Chocolate bonbons are perfectly presented on a wrought-iron table in the middle, with large display windows to showcase the selection of soft centres and pralines. Burlap bags on display hint at the faraway locations from which the chocolate is sourced - from Peru to Madagascar, Trinidad to Vietnam. Buying chocolate from Alain Ducasse's shop is a physical and sensory treat.
