This independent Notting Hill book shop is run by renowned book agents Sarah Lutyens and Felicity Rubinstein and runs in parallel with their literary agency. Opened in October 2009, Lutyens & Rubinstein specialises in fiction, non-fiction, poetry, graphic novels, coffee-table tomes and children's books, aiming at a small local clientele. The place is a delight for browsing: tea and coffee are served in bespoke china cups, curious figurines lie dotted around on the shelves and the library area has that distinct smell of leather bindings all too familiar to book lovers worldwide. Just a stone's throw from the nearby Electric Cinema on Portobello Road, the L&R Book Shop also has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with its knowledgeable owners often on hand to discuss all things literary. Highly recommended.
