This independent jewellers in the picturesque and pedestrianised Exmouth Market is owned by Irish brothers Barry and David McCaul who not only sell their sparkling pieces from their Clerkenwell shop but also make each unique piece by hand - from design to finish - on the premises. Close to the 'jewellery quarter' of Hatton Garden, you can see the designers at the workbench at the back of the McCaul shop. They create one-off pieces made using rubies, diamonds and precious stones set 18 carat gold. Sound a bit like every other jewellers you've ever been to? Just wait until you see them - or, even better, try them on. Sweeping gold bands curve into sculptural structures to create some very original styles - nothing like your average engagement ring and so much more inventive.McCaul Goldsmiths images
