Even in the culinary Mecca of Turnham Green, with half-a-dozen celebrated delicatessens in easy walking distance - Mortimer & Bennett stands out. Friendly, knowledgeable staff are a further bonus, though a side effect is that getting served can take an agonisingly long time when gossipy local gourmets come in for their weekend shop.
