Combining classic European baking with exotic flavours of the Far East, Pan de Vie delivers a visual treat of brilliantly-coloured sweet patisseries and savoury bakes, all made daily to go. Matcha is the hero ingredient here. With all the benefits of green tea (antioxidants, calming, memory aide) but a better taste, matcha is used in baked goods like the castella loaf, a light and delicately-flavoured sponge, azuki bean mousse, white chocolate tart and matcha muffins studded with white chocolate chunks. Arranged over two floors the store, which occupies the ground and lower-ground levels, has an eat-in space below, where the oriental fusion concept is reflected in the contemporary interiors with whimsical tree symbols blooming with French baguettes among their branches. Banquettes in striking turquoise leather are studded with shocking pink buttons giving the place a fun, playful feel.
