Paradise Row was opened in October 2006 by Nick Hackworth, an art critic for the Evening Standard for some seven years. The gallery, part of a Victorian terraced row in Bethnal Green, mainly concentrates on showing works by emerging London based artists. That said, in 2007 established artists Jake & Dinos Chapman exhibited new works here at a show entitled 'Two Legs Bad, Four Legs Good'. Hackworth is currently writing a book on the artistically gifted brothers. Meanwhile, solo shows have showcased the work of Douglas White, Margarita Gluzberg, French artist Guillaume Paris, Kirk Palmer, Justin Coombes, Diann Bauer and Shezad Dawood who turned a five-storey building on Paradise Row into an architecturally designed living/work space and put it up for sale via an estate agent. Art but not as we know it.
