The Phaidon book store in Piccadilly, opposite the Royal Academy of Arts, is perfectly positioned for art lovers. Phaidon Press specialises in books on the visual arts, its long history beginning in 1923 with a monograph publication on Van Gogh. More recent influential art titles include Gombrich's famous 'Story of Art' which remains a best-seller, and 'My Name Is Charles Saatchi And I Am An Artoholic'. The two London Phaidon stores - there's another shop at 155 King's Road, Chelsea - are both beautifully laid out with well designed book covers standing out against clean white walls. There's a wide range of choice from children's stories to cookery bibles and they also do an appealing array of travel books including box sets of the ultra hip Wallpaper city guides.Location map of Phaidon Store
