The record shop that launched the legendary Rough Trade label - home to The Smiths, The Fall and The Libertines among others - is still heaven for indie-kids, punks and rockers. It's been carefully organised by era, genre and sub-sub genre, so you need a decent grounding in music before you can even start looking. But once you do, you're certain to find whatever you want and a dozen more things you didn't even realise you needed. The staff are disturbingly knowledgeable - and not shy about playing their favourite post-hardore punk thrashes at ear-bleeding volume during opening hours.
