Walking through Portobello Road Market in Notting Hill on a weekend it's worth having a look at the SaLon Gallery. If you're lucky, you may get to see a man in the window, not just a man, an artist, doing what artists do - painting. It's this sort of stunt that makes Samir Ceric's gallery one of the least stuffy exhibition spaces in Notting Hill. They also have musicians, DJs, poetry readings, film screenings and all kinds of live performances - from dance to comedy. There's also a cafe where you can get good, strong coffee and a menu that changes as frequently as the art exhibitions which are updated every three or four weeks. It's also a popular place to throw a party and is available for private hire.
