Central Saint Martins graduate Alice Temperley is a British designer known for her floaty, lace and beautifully feminine dresses which she sells from her Notting Hill shop, a series of converted mews houses where the head office and design rooms are also situated. A well respected name in the fashion industry, her 2002 1920s style wedding was covered by Vogue and in 2011 - ten years after the Temperley London boutique first opened -  the designer was awarded an MBE for services to the fashion industry. Shopping at the Temperley boutique in London is an intimate experience, with the ready-to-wear, accessories and bridal collections to browse through. Alice by Temperley, launched in 2010, is a contemporary sister line created to fulfill a need for an everyday Temperley look in a more accessible market. Buying a dress here may set you back more than a week's wages but it will be a very special outfit, and you'll be joining celebrities like Kate Middleton, Halle Berry, Scarlett Johansson and Sarah Jessica Parker who are all fans of the unique Temperley style. A larger flagship Temperley store is due to open in Mayfair in November 2012.
