Visitor Information
The only wine shop in the world selling nothing but English wine, The Wine Pantry in Borough Market offers customers something quite unique. It may come as a surprise to learn that England produces wines at all but there are around 430 vineyards in the country and the Wine Pantry gives customers the chance to choose from a list of approximately 70 bottles. There's a 'try before you buy' policy at the small (standing room only) shop in Stoney Street where you can sample the wines - for a small fee - along with cheeses and meats. They are particularly strong on sparkling wines with Ridgeview, Camel Valley and Hush Heath proving to be especially good - if you still need convincing ask owner Julia Stafford who is both passionate and something of an expert about English wine producing. There's no phone number but you can contact The Wine Pantry via email at info@winepantry.co.uk or visit their website to order online.
