The only wine shop in the world selling nothing but English wine, The Wine Pantry in Borough Market offers customers something quite unique. It may come as a surprise to learn that England produces wines at all but there are around 430 vineyards in the country and the Wine Pantry gives customers the chance to choose from a list of approximately 70 bottles. There's a 'try before you buy' policy at the small (standing room only) shop in Stoney Street where you can sample the wines - for a small fee - along with cheeses and meats. They are particularly strong on sparkling wines with Ridgeview, Camel Valley and Hush Heath proving to be especially good - if you still need convincing ask owner Julia Stafford who is both passionate and something of an expert about English wine producing.
