Spending most of our time in pubs swilling foreign lager pushed by multi-national breweries, the British nation has turned their back on their home-grown beer. Often looked on as the preserve of pensioners and Radio 3 listeners, real ale is actually an exciting, varied and relatively unknown drinking area. From a malty drop with a hint of honey, to a warming vanilla brew with cherry undertones and a hoppy finish, the diversity is enormous. The Real Ale Shop brings together top quality beers from micro-breweries across the country, previously only available to local drinkers.
