As Blockbuster stores close down all over the country, under pressure from online retailers, Notting Hill's defiantly lo-tech local DVD rental shop goes from strength to strength. The secret is in a selection of movies that puts Amazon to shame, all listed in a photocopied booklet, which you can take home and make your selection before visiting. Rental is theoretically for one night only, but in practice, the charming and knowledgeable staff are always happy to give you a day or two's extra time free of charge if you can't make it back the following evening.Opening and closing times for Video City
