The famous red sole designer shoes by Christian Louboutin are worn by celebrities and fashionistas who favour the glamourous heels designed by the inventive Frenchman. Born in 1963, Louboutin was fascinated by women's fashion from a young age and since opening his first shop in Paris in 1991 his shoes have become synonymous with elegance and sophistication. The trademark red soles came about by accident, originating from the red nail varnish applied to make a prototype match the drawing he had created. He opened his first UK store in Motcomb Street in 1998 and a second a decade later in Mount Street. A third followed in 2012 when he opened a men's only stand-alone store at 35 Dover Street, Mayfair.
