Maybe it's the central location, or perhaps the irresistibly creamy, chilled 'Cookies and Cream' combination but the Haagen-Dazs ice cream shop on Leicester Square is perennial popularity. Even on the coldest, darkest winter's afternoon the queues at this cafe, here since 14th April 1990, are out the door. With LondonTown.com headquarters overlooking the ice cream shop it is tempting to pop in for a 'Pralines and Cream' iced treat every time we pass the door. Both the price and the expanding effects on the waistband prevent us (often the queues are off-putting too). But the Cookie Crunch and Chocoholic flavours are among the best if you have a sweet tooth (though not those of the sensitive tooth). If we manage to walk past Haagen Dazs there's always the Ben & Jerry's just the other side of our front door, also on Leicester Square. It's a test of will just walking to work around here.
