This small, family-run Italian delicatessen and grocers in Soho is a favourite with local workers and has a strong native following. In fact, you're bound to hear more Italian voices than English ones when you pop into the delicious smelling premises on Old Compton Street, whose walls are covered with popular Italian pastas, cakes, coffees, sauces and tinned food. From the low roof hangs whole sides of Parma ham while behind a counter there is an excellent selection of freshly made pasta and ravioli, some authentic Italian sausages and a vast array of Italian cheeses, hams, salamis and vegetables such as artichokes, peppers, sundried tomatoes, olives and mushrooms. There is a selection of freshly baked bread and rolls too so you can have made a huge sandwich bursting with a filling of your choice for just ?4. Queues at lunch time often go out the front door so best not come to I Camisa & Sons if you're in a hurry. But if you're after authentic Italian ingredients served to you by real Italians in a properly Italian setting in the heart of Soho, than this is a must.I Camisa & Son images
