One in the Other is one of a number of small, niche galleries in Vyner Street but that's not where the name comes from. Gallery director Chris Noraika chose the Surrealist game l'un dans l'autre when he came to give the gallery its title. What started out near Old Street tube station as a project space and artist platform has now become a commercial gallery in Bethnal Green representing homegrown and international artists while working with and developing young artists. Along with a programme of around eight exhibitions a year One in the Other represents artists at fairs in New York, Miami, Basel, London and Chicago and has collaborative links with a number of international galleries. Chris' background - studying Fine Art at Goldsmiths College from 1992 to 1995 before going on to study Philosophy at Birkbeck College - has clearly given him a wealth of contacts and a good eye for art.
