The Royal College of Art has a lively programme of exhibitions featuring the work of its postgraduate students. In a further bid to promote artistic excellence it hosts lectures by leading figures from the worlds of art and design, fundraising sales, and other events. The College also hosts a number of external exhibitions organised by selected partners. 2007 marked the 150th anniversary of the founding of the college on its current site with the largest exhibition of the College's postgraduate work. For the first time, work from all disciplines was shown alongside one another under a large tented pavilion in Kensington Gardens, drawing attention to the wide diversity on offer. The Royal College of Art includes an invaluable collection of over 1,000 works by staff and graduating students including Peter Blake and David Hockney, representing significant developments in British Painting from the middle years of last century to the present.Royal College of Art images
