The SW1 Gallery in Victoria's Cardinal Place shopping centre provides a welcome break for shoppers and something cultural to do in your lunch hour for people who work in the area. The exhibitions frequently change, and cover a whole range of styles from an exhibition by students with special education needs in the City of Westminster area to James Hawkins' 'Chronicles of the Straight Line Ramblers Club', his first major exhibition in London for six years. Events are organised around the exhibitions to augment the shows and give visitors a greater understanding of how and why art is made. Demonstrations, lectures, artist led tours and school workshops are part of the calendar as are recitals, book readings and musical evenings.
