A welcome addition to the North London arts scene which, until the 176 Gallery opened, was not overwhelmed with great galleries. This is the new home of the Zabludowicz Collection, a privately funded contemporary art collection focusing on emerging artists from the late 20th and 21st centuries. The building is a converted 19th century Methodist chapel, which creates interesting juxtapositions with the experimental art. Working with emerging artists and presenting three major site-specific exhibitions per year, exhibitions work both with the building and the Collection as their starting point. The resource room at 176 houses publications primarily related to artists held within the Zabludowicz Collection and there's also a caf?o you can digest whatever art you've just seen over cakes, tea and coffee.
