| It may look like a pile of CDs tilted at a precarious angle so it's about to fall over, but this attractive Norman Foster building near Tower Bridge is the hub of the Greater London Authority. City Hall is where the mayor's team works on the implementation of policies devised by the Greater London Authority... so that's self-promotion, self-congratulation and a bit of congestion charging. Some parts are accessible to the public Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm and on occasional weekends. It's worth going along to have a look at the regular exhibitions, usually themed on a London-related topic. London's Living Room on the top floor which can be hired (or lent to charities) is particularly impressive with stunning views over Tower Bridge, just a stone's throw away. |
