This thriving natural wilderness is hidden in the sprawling concrete of London’s East End and offers both an invigorating and educational day of fun for all the family.
Cultivated in a ten acre churchyard, the reserve boasts a rich array of wildlife. Foxes and pheasants are known to skulk through the undergrowth, while kestrels and owls govern the sky.

You can embark on three numbered nature trails that wind their way through the gravestones. Little explorers can happily scamper along the paths, spotting wildlife among the foliage while taking in gulps of fresh air. For the less energetic, the serenity of the reserve simply makes for a delightful afternoon stroll.

The small visitor centre features informative displays on the changing local history of the area, while for children, there is a colourful 3-D wildlife scene to poke and prod. Don’t forget to pass by the imposing 800 year old Norman church which stands in rather solemn grandeur at the heart of the reserve.
