For an interesting take on print journalism and the machinations of the media world pay a visit to the gallery situated in the foyer of the Guardian News and Media's headquarters at Kings Place. From 2002 to 2008 the Newsroom for the two sister newpapers ran exhibitions from the Guardian's head office on Farringdon Road. With the newspaper's move to Kings Place so too the exhibition space relocated, opening with an inaugural exhibition in December 2008 on 'The Lost Art of The Picture Library'. A rolling programme of free exhibitions draws heavily from the archive collection of original and unique documents including cartoons, illustrations and a photographic library dating back to the 1860s. Diaries, letters, notebooks, bound copies of old editions add to this fascinating collection and help us to examine the role of journalism, news and papers. You can also find out more about the process leading up to publication at the education centre which hosts workshops and projects on a variety of topics from digital media to a one-day 'Insight into Journalism' course.
