Southwark Bridge is a Grade II listed steel road and foot bridge, which links Southwark and the City crossing the River Thames. The distinctive bridge, built by Sir William Arrol and Co., was designed by Ernest George and Basil Mott and was opened by King George V in 1921. What makes it stand out are its colourful cast iron arches - five in total - which are supported by four stone granite piers, and topped by pierced lunettes for decoration.Southwark Bridge images
