 |
| The City or 'Square Mile' is the very heart of London's thriving business district, the largest financial district in Europe. Parts of The City are among the oldest, dating back to Roman times. This part of town stretches out to the east and includes the new financial hub in the Docklands area, with Canary Wharf being the largest complex there. The City has its own governance and boundaries making it the only completely autonomous local authority in London. City slickers and those working for the big banks have the luxury of flying into City airport which convenient drops them almost to their desk - it also offers the most spectacular entrance to the country as you fly in over the water. |
