Hillingdon Cycle Circuit
West London's premier cycling racing, training and leisure venue, the Hillingdon Cycle Circuit is located in Minet Country Park in Hayes and boasts a 0.93-mile long, six-metres wide year-round circuit. Triple Olympic champion and Tour de France star Bradley Wiggins started his racing career on this prototype circuit as a schoolboy. The circuit is used regularly for racing and hosts an annual round of the national circuit race championship. A winter series runs from December to February, while during the season there are races every Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and most weekends. Both formal and informal training sessions take place all week, and there's a woman-only leisure group that meets on Friday afternoons. Besides cycling, the circuit is also used by the London Nordic Ski Club for In-Line Skating events. The Hillingdon Cycle Circuit is open for general public use by individuals and families free of charge but remember that the circuit will not be available for a period from half an hour before to half an hour after any booked activity or event. See www.hillingdoncyclecircuit.org.uk for more information and a full programme of events and training sessions.
