Heathrow is by most measures the world's busiest airport. Located to the West of London along the M4, it can be reached by Tube (Piccadilly line), train (Heathrow Express from London Paddington), bus and taxi. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are grouped together while Terminal 4 is, generally, used for longhaul international travel. Despite protests against the addition of a new terminal, Terminal 5 (T5) was opened by the Queen on 14th March 2008 (officially welcoming travellers on 22nd March), bringing some of Richard Rogers glamour to the largely tedious business of air travel. After £4.3 billion and four and a half years, it stands as the biggest freestanding building in the UK, large enough to house 50 football pitches over its five floors, and five times the size of Terminal 4. The executive lounges - for Concorde, first class and club class passengers - have been designed along the lines of a luxury boutique hotel, complete with shower pods - so you can touch down and wash off while your clothes are pressed. Once refreshed and pressed, you'll be ready to head straight for Gordon Ramsay's Plane Food restaurant - unlikely you'll be eating with plastic cutlery here.
If you are using a satelite navigation system, here are some useful postcodes:

* Terminal 2: TW6 1EW
