King's Cross Railway Station

The area surrounding this sprawling station has, in the past, had a reputation as a red light district after dark. But with the arrival of the Eurostar at the nearby St Pancras International, the neighbourhood has become more gentrified. King's Cross Railway Station itself is at the centre of some very interesting trivia, not least that the now legendary platform 9? in the Harry Potter books is located within its walls. J.K Rowling must have got a bit confused as there aren't actually tracks between platforms 9 and 10 at King's Cross, but that doesn't stop hoards of Harry fans taking snaps of the place where the imaginary platform is meant to be, along with a trolley that looks as if it has disappeared through the wall. X could mark the spot for Boadicea as rumour has it that she is buried beneath platform 8 and her ghost haunts the underground passages.

Regular train services depart King's Cross for destinations in the Northeast and Scotland.
