High Street Kensington Tube Station

High Street Kensington Underground station gives access to the District and Circle lines.

The high street itself is packed with upmarket shops. Once upon a time the street was home to a cluster of massive traditional department stores, sadly though, Barkers, the last of these closed its doors for good in January 2006. You can still marvel at this beautiful example of Art-Deco architecture, however - it's now the Whole Foods Market organic food emporium.

As well as the obvious shopping opportunities, nearby attractions include Kensington Palace and Gardens, Hyde Park, Royal Albert Hall, Holland Park and Kensington Roof Gardens.
