This Underground Station connects to the District and Circle, Bakerloo, and Hammersmith and City lines. From Paddington there are also mainline services to Oxford, Bristol, Bath, Tauton, Exeter, Plymouth, Cornwall and South Wales. The Heathrow Express also arrives at Paddington, although it is considerably cheaper to take the Piccadilly tube line to central London.
The station gives it name to the fictional bear with a liking for marmalade sandwiches, who was discovered on the platform by the Brown family who took him under their wing. There is a bronze statue commemorating him.
