St Bartholomew's Hospital, commonly known as St Barts, is Britain's oldest hospital having been founded nearly four centuries ago in 1123. Located close to Smithfield Market and The City, it serves a diverse patient demographic. One of the most important treasures of the hospital is the agreement between Henry VIII and the City of London which refounded the hospital in the 16th century and can be seen at the hospital's museum. Henry's signature is visible in the top left-hand corner of the document alongside his royal seal.
