Following a refurbishment in 2014, The Crown & Sceptre in Fritzrovia has revealed a new look and an improved range of beers including London brews, seasonally rotating guest beers and cask ales from around the world. The transformation includes quirky design - light fittings fashioned out of old milk bottles - a gleaming spot lit bar, studded leather stools, wrought iron chandeliers from Morocco, and bright pink armchairs with 'King' and 'Queen' cushions. With its vintage Radio Times posters and a print of the first image from the BBC studios - it's a short walk from Broadcasting House - the wood-paneled drinking den should appeal to its media-industry neighbours. Laptop points and a central presentation screen mean you can use this a casual meeting space in the working hours. Food choices from the gastropub style bar menu include pork and chorizo burger, gnocchi with wild mushrooms, and wild salmon fish cakes, served with lemon creme fraiche, potato wedges, celeriac and apple slaw.
