This 120-seat restaurant is the creation of Iqbal Wahhab, founder of The Cinnamon Club. Like the Cinnamon Club, it is housed in an outstanding venue, in this case on the high bridge over Borough Market, where you can enjoy views of the finest produce in London being bought and sold, as well as watch it being cooked in the funky open kitchen. The restaurant's biggest architectural coup, however, is that it sits within the old portico that originally formed part of Covent Garden Opera House's Floral Hall - Borough Market Trustees acquired the portico for just 1. Huge glass windows covering three of its four sides offer diners spectacular views over the market. The cuisine is Modern British, taking traditional grills, Roasts and slow-cooked favourites, and presenting them with all the flair of a gourmet restaurant. Unsurprisingly, given its location, the quality of the ingredients is impeccable. The restaurant is also home to the sleek Roast Bar, where guests can enjoy pre-dinner aperitif, late-night cocktails or a quick nightcap while enjoying high-end British bar snacks.
