French bakery and patisserie, PAUL, has progressed from cafes to restaurant with Le Restaurant de PAUL on the ground floor of Tower 42 , the former NatWest tower where City Social sits up on the 24th floor. The second such Le Restaurant de Paul, this branch opened just over a year after the first Le Restaurant de PAUL launched in Covent Garden . Bigger than the first, the s pacious 93-cover City restaurant, with outside seating for 40, includes its own a wine bar. The restaurant plays to its strengths - serving patisserie, viennoiserie and artisan breads from the famous PAUL in-house bakery - but adds freshly blended fruit and vegetable smoothies to the usual selection of cakes, salads and sandwiches available to grab and go. In the sit-down part of the restaurant, French cheeses and meat from the Queen's butcher, Donald Russell, feature on the all-day menu where hearty French favourites cotelettes d'agneau and aiglefin fume au pistou are joined by new additions of French gourmet burgers.
