Eleven years after the first Yauatcha opened in London, Hakkasan group opens a second branch of the stylish Chinese dim sum house in the revamped Broadgate Circle which welcomed 11 new restaurants to its City space in spring 2015. With authentic Cantonese dishes and a wide choice of steamed, baked, grilled and fried dim sum, Yauatcha City is one of the best places in London for scallop shui mai, prawn and beancurd cheung fun and Venison puffs - dishes which have earned its Soho sister a Michelin star. To complement the cuisine, the drinks menu includes 38 types of tea, as well as cocktails, wine and Champagne list. Although the Soho restaurant has a patisserie counter, Yauatcha City is the first with a standalone space for their excellent macarons, petits gateaux and chocolates - found on the level below the main restaurant. The design, led by French designers GBRH, of the 198 cover restaurant (which includes two bars and two terraces, each seating 50 guests), features aquariums, starlit ceilings, visible kitchens and the blue and pink palette that has become synonymous with the restaurant while staff go efficiently about their business in Diane von Furstenberg dresses.
