Hillingdon guide
The London borough of Hillingdon incorporates some 2,626 streets. Hillingdon at its widest point is 19.2 miles by 8.7 miles in length.
Hillingdon is London's least densely populated borough, with a large tract of Green Belt land that includes over 800 acres of woodland. The Colne Valley, once part of the Grand Union Canal and a major trade route, is now a beautiful spot for walking, fishing and birdwatching.
Ruislip Lido offers safe sandy beaches, and there are also four excellent golf courses in the borough. Immortalised by Sir John Betjeman as Metroland, the borough has preserved many of its attractive village centres, and offers a real taste of the traditional English countryside, in spite of being only 30 minutes train journey from central London.
These 2,626 streets are home to over 339 LondonTown.com featured venues, which include 75 restaurants, 174 shops, 7 attractions, 3 clubs and pubs and 23 leisure venues.
