First there was one beloved Big Easy on the Kings Road, then lucky Londoners got a second installment in Covent Garden. But Big Easy Canary Wharf is the largest and most exciting to date, set in the Norman Foster designed Canary Wharf Crossrail Station terminal at park level with a huge roof terrace, an oyster bar and private dining rooms. Serves Big Easy's signature dishes - including the St. Louis style dry-rubbed ribs, cooked for over six hours in a pit to ensure that smoky goodness - the menu includes BBQ beef cuts, rare-breed British steaks, fresh local seafood and lobster. The bar specialises in brown liquor of all types - whisky, tequila, Caribbean rum, and French and Spanish brandy. Frozen slushies - dispensed from imported, purpose built cocktail machines - are also a speciality. At night there's country and blues music and the place gets pretty rowdy, but if you're after good times and great, honest American food, there are few better places.
