Based in a converted corner townhouse, Baozilnn is packed with Chinese themed artwork, Asian lanterns and decorative shutters, as well as contemporary touches like sleek slate floors and exposed brickwork. Recommended by Jason Atherton for its "porky meatball in a soft, fluffy steamed bun" (Telegraph), Baozilnn serves authentic north Chinese street food and all-day Cantonese Dim Sum with Sichuan and Hunan influences. Wei Shao's 80-cover restaurant, a Georgian townhouse styled as a modern take on a Mao-style canteen, serves coloured Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings - something of a trademark. The minced pork and scallop are wrapped in a lavender coloured casing, naturally dyed using red cabbages. Arranged over three floors and divided into five distinct dining spaces, the restaurant includes a bar where you can sample world wines and handpicked beers. Fans of Baozilnn can also get their fix at Market Hall Victoria and, from July 2019, at their flagship branch near Borough.
