Part of a long-term programme of artist-conceived restaurants, the Gallery at Sketch has commissioned a number of artists to transform the space. Former installations include one by Turner Prize winning artists Martin Creed, which saw the floor, walls and furniture take the form of artworks inspired by the boundaries of art and functionality. All the chairs and cutlery were completely mismatched and all of the walls and ceiling are bright and contrasting. In 2014 the Gallery was then given a complete makeover, with celebrated British artist, David Shrigley, transforming it with 239 new works lining the walls, forming the largest group of original drawings he has ever exhibited. Providing a backdrop for the works, India Mahdavi has created a striking pink interior, with the colour dominating both the furniture and the walls, with velvet-covered custom-made furniture and rose gold touches.
