The London 2012 Olympic Rowing
programme takes place on the pristine waters of Eton Dorney
to the west of London from Saturday 28 July to Saturday 4 August. Rowing has long been a steadfast tradition in the UK, what with the annual Oxford and Cambridge Varsity Boat Race taking place each spring on the Thames in London. The packed eight-day Olympic programme at the spectacular 2.2km-long lake of Eton Dorney
will feature 14 medal events and 550 athletes in a variety of disciplines ranging from Single Skulls (where rowers have two oars) to Eights, contested by teams of eight rowers plus a cox. All London 2012 Rowing events will start with a series of heats before the knock-out stages and finals.
