A much welcome addition to Archway and its environs, bar/club/live music venue/pizzeria The Hideaway seems to do it all - which is what you'd expect from a place brought to you by the people behind Hoxton's excellent steakhouse Hawksmoor. Upstairs, a recently refurbished bar is great for drinking beers, wine of cocktails and relaxing with your friends, with delicious thin 'n' crispy stone-baked pizzas ("the best this side of foreign" according to The Observer) cooked on an open oven and a Mediterranean-style vine covered garden around the back (which will indubitably prove a hit in the summer). Downstairs is a rough and ready live music den with bands performing on Thursdays (plus some Sundays and Wednesdays) and resident DJs rolling out an eclectic mix of house, indie and electro on Fridays and Saturdays.
