As part of the Mayor of London's Liberty Festival, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, the National Theatre stages Watch This Space: The Liberty Festival, an afternoon of free performances and entertainment from some leading disabled artists and companies. There are free Candoco dance workshops at 11am and 3pm, a new show by Kuljit Bhamra, a pioneer of Bhangra and a well known figure on the British Asian music scene who combines traditional Indian rhythms with western instruments. At 3pm multi-disciplinary American artist Bill Shannon defies gravity with his unique street dance and skating techniques on crutches. "A clock and space shuttle and time machine rolled into one" is how Circus Magazine describe Sputnik, a mind-boggling structure that fuses body and spirit with a machine; catch it at 4.30pm. As day turns to the night the celebrations continue with a screening of Steep Rain by the Freewheelers Theatre Company, an arresting yet simple cinematic portrayal of visibility and invisibility projected on to the side of the National's Flytower from 9pm to 10.30pm.
