One Leicester Street

One Leicester Street opens on 1st May 2013. From 1st May 2013 the 15-room St John Hotel is renamed One Leicester Street with chef patron, Tom Harris, still very much on board. The main change is the backing of Singaporean hotelier Peng Loh who has come on board, adding the hotel to the Unlisted Collection group - which also owns the Town Hall Hotel. Some minor refurbishment by Universal Design Studio has been applied to the interiors, with the public areas and rooms getting a soft refurb while the restaurant and bar get a more substantial makeover. Black ash timber dining chairs, sharp white tablecloths and copper pendant lights create a modern environment. A terrace extends the restaurant dining room outdoors so even if you haven't made a reservation you can stop for coffee or a light bite. But, most importantly, the Michelin starred restaurant, famous for its nose-to-tail food philosophy first pioneered by St John's owners Trevor Gulliver and Fergus Henderson, remains firmly in place.
