The tale of singing nun Maria and the adorable Von Trapp family is a faultless, feelgood musical, with an easygoing plot perfectly matched to a string of Rodgers and Hammerstein's greatest hit songs. 'My Favourite Things', 'Do-Re-Mi', 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain', 'Sixteen Going on Seventeen' - this show could never be anything less than a pleasure, and this production has done an excellent job of translating the familiar movie to the stage. Fast-paced, full of charm and wearing its heart on its sleeve, this is a show that will brighten the heart of all but the most cynical Londoners. Please note: Summer Strallen will not perfrom Monday evenings or Wednesday matinees. Aoife Mulholland (also a finalist in 'How do you solve a Problem Like Maria') plays Maria on these days. She is contracted to perform unitl the 19th April. Summer Strallen will be on holiday 19th to 24th May 2008 and 16th to the 21st June 2008 and will not perform during any of these dates. Please Note: Upper Circle Row A and B at the Palladium are classed as restricted view with a handrail

Tucked away on the first floor of the Berkshire hotel, Ascots restaurant & bar is a real discovery! Wood floored, matched by wood & glass panelled walls, combine with striking tables and chairs to combine perfectly the traditional and the modern. Ascots has just been awarded its second AA rosette, and Head Chef Steve White has the confidence to take a simple approach to his dishes using ingredients that compliment rather than clash with each other. Service is up beat and friendly, presided over with great skill by Michel Daunat. In all it is perfect for a discreet drink, or a dinner for two.
